MP Mittal bats for stronger ties to combat terror

Rajya Sabha Member Dr Ashok Kumar Mittal, as part of the Indian Parliamentary Delegation visiting Slovenia, reiterated India’s firm and uncompromising stance against terrorism while calling for enhanced global cooperation to tackle emerging threats to peace and security.

The visit comes in the wake of the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, under the larger framework of Operation Sindoor, India’s diplomatic initiative aimed at galvanising international consensus against terrorism and fostering global solidarity on security issues.

During high-level engagements in Ljubljana today, Mittal met Predrag Bakovic, Chairperson of the Foreign Policy Committee of the National Assembly of Slovenia, Miroslav Gregoric, Chair of the India–Slovenia Parliamentary Friendship Group, and Vojko Volk, State Secretary and National Coordinator for National and International Security in the Prime Minister’s Office.

In these discussions, Dr Mittal emphasised India’s united and unwavering resolve to combat terrorism and highlighted the importance of international collaboration to address not only security threats but also to promote peace, innovation, and inclusive global development.

“India stands united in its determination to eliminate terrorism and to forge meaningful global partnerships for peace, innovation, and inclusive growth,” Dr Mittal said during the meetings. — OC
