INLD’s Sunaina slams BJP MP Jangra for remarks on women warriors
Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) women’s wing state in-charge Sunaina Chautala came down heavily on BJP Rajya Sabha MP Ramchandra Jangra over his controversial remarks about women warriors, calling them deeply disrespectful and unacceptable. Addressing a district-level women’s conference at the INLD office on Dabwali Road, Sirsa, on Tuesday, she announced that the INLD women’s wing would soon stage a protest outside the MP’s residence in response.
Chautala used the occasion to rally women to rise as a political force, urging them to recognise their strength and join the fight for their rights. She accused the BJP-led state government of failing women on safety, dignity and welfare.
“Crimes against women, including rape, harassment and snatching, are rising every day under the BJP rule. The government has no concrete welfare plans for women and even existing schemes remain on paper,” she said.
In contrast, Sunaina praised INLD’s legacy, highlighting the efforts of former Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhary Devi Lal and former Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala. “They launched impactful schemes like Devirupak, Jachha-Bachha, and Kanyadaan, which significantly improved the lives of women across Haryana,” she noted.
She added that Om Prakash Chautala envisioned a party where women could grow politically and become a source of strength for each other. “The INLD is the only party in Haryana that truly stands for women. We don’t just promise; we deliver,” she stated.
At the event, Sunaina led women in taking an oath to fight social evils such as drug addiction and pledged to become vocal advocates for women’s rights.
INLD district president Jasbir Singh Jassa welcomed the women leaders and assured full party support. State president of the INLD women’s wing Tanuja Kashyap and district president Subhadra Devi also addressed the gathering, encouraging more women to get involved in political and social work through the party. Other attendees included INLD urban district president Gangaram Bajaj, Mamta Dabwali, Dr Tavleen Kaur (Chandigarh), Suman Godara, Darshana Sharma (Odhan), Pooja Dabwali and Suman Lohgarh.
