Tarn Taran: Start preparing for Assembly polls, ex-MLA tells Congress workers
Former MLA Ramanjit Singh Sikki, in a meeting of Congress workers organised in Pakhopur village on Tuesday, called upon people to be ready for the coming Vidhan Sabha elections.
In his address, Sikki alleged that the people in general are disturbed over the incidents involving gangsters and frequent killings. He condemned the alleged atrocities on the Congress party workers at the hands of the police and the administration. The ex-MLA said that the extortion calls being made by gangsters have badly affected business and a large number of traders and intellectuals have left for other destinations.
Sikki condemned the corruption prevailing in different government departments resulting in the harassment of the general masses. Lashing out at the performance of the state government, Sikki alleged that development has come to a standstill in the villages.
The former MLA claimed that it is only the Congress party which is capable of providing clean, fair and fearless administration to the masses for the development of the state.
A large number of workers from the other parties joined the Congress party on the occasion and were welcomed by Sikki. The local leaders of the Congress party also addressed the gathering.
