Jalandhar news: Maintenance issues, 6000 LED light installation reviewed in civic meeting

Mayor Vaneet Dhir held a meeting with the MC officials, including the MC Commissioner. The mayor asked the officials to pursue the case of maintenance and installation of 6,000 LED lights in the city.

Notably, there are several dark spots in the city and it becomes a problem for commuters at night to ensure a safe journey in these areas.

The residents complain of darkness because of the non-working streetlights.

It’s an old issue, and strangely, the Municipal Corporation has not been able to resolve it properly yet.

Apart from that, the mayor also discussed the new machinery that the Corporation is going to purchase.

As per the information, the project of buying 110 Bolero cars is also underway, and the tenders are being floated for the same.

One of the most important points the mayor had mentioned during the general house meeting was getting 110 Boleros for councillors so that waste from garbage dumps could be lifted.

Though, the moment Dhir mentioned that, councillors Pawan, Bunty Nilkanth and Sherry Chadha had interrupted him, saying why he (Mayor) was speaking, why there was no debate on these points and how it was possible.
