Madhya Pradesh Among 5 States To Report Covid Deaths
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh has figured among the five states which reported Covid deaths in the country, as per official figures on Tuesday. Eleven Covid patients have died so far in Maharashtra, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh, nine of them within a week.
In Indore, a 47-year-old woman died of corona on April 22 this year. She was also suffering from kidney problems. This was the first Covid death reported in the state. After this, the health department swung into action and detected 10 Covid cases.
As per the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Kerala has the highest number of active cases (430). Maharashtra has 208 cases, Delhi 104 cases and Gujarat 83 cases. Out of the 80 cases in Karnataka, 73 are in Bangalore. Madhya Pradesh has already reported 10 Covid cases from April 22 to May 22, according to a health department report.
As for preparations to combat the disease, a dedicated 20- bed ward has been made in the AIIMS Bhopal. The RT-PCR testing facility at AIIMS Bhopal is fully operational, enabling quick and accurate detection of Covid -19 infections.
Additionally, a dedicated Covid general ward, including isolation beds, has been activated and a special ICU equipped with ventilators has also been kept ready, fully equipped to treat moderate to severe cases.
A special task force has been constituted to effectively respond to any emergency situation. Other government hospitals, like the District Hospital and Hamidia Hospital, are waiting for guidelines from the health department.
