China in Massive trouble as major crisis hits country, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Russia…, Xi Jinping government says…

New Delhi: China is grappling with a serious crisis — not a health emergency like COVID, but a growing shortage of brides. China’s one-child policy, which was in effect for decades starting in 1979, is now becoming a major reason of concern for the government. Although the policy was officially ended in 2015, one of its major consequences is now becoming evident.

Boys born in China during that time are now reaching marriageable age. This has led to a situation where over 35 million men are searching for brides but are unable to find suitable partners within China.

The large number of men is a direct outcome of the societal preference for sons under the one-child policy. It is estimated that in the coming decades, the number of unmarried Chinese men unable to find a wife could reach as high as 50 million.

Many Chinese men are now turning to online portals in search of life partners in desperation. Others are looking abroad to get married. A large number of Chinese men are “buying brides” from foreign countries such as Russia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Southeast Asian nations.

Some are even using online channels to pay hefty sums in bribes. These developments have also fueled the human trafficking trade, raising serious concerns among international agencies.

China Issues Warning Against Buying Brides

The Chinese government issued a stern warning to its citizens in Bangladesh against purchasing “foreign wives” for marriage. According to a report by Bangladesh’s Daily Star, several social media posts have claimed to arrange brides for Chinese men. In response, the Chinese embassy in Dhaka has cautioned its citizens not to fall into this trap.
