Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz are almost certain to become the new Liverpool signings ahead of the Club World Cup. The Premier League champions are forced to offload a few of its current squad to fund the arrival of fresh recruits and Colombian winger Luis Diaz is numero uno on this "outgoing" list, a report said.
Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez is likely to join Arne Slot's team ahead of their title defence next season, and a €100 million bid for Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike is also not ruled out. The signing of Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen alone is likely to cost Liverpool around €120 million and Frimpong will take another €35 million from their coffers. Thus, selling some of their Premier League-winning stars have become unavoidable.

28-year-old Diaz arrived at the Anfield from FC Porto in 2022. Despite being a key player under Klopp as well as Slot, the winger has been often rumoured to be sold by the Reds. La Liga champions FC Barcelona were most recently linked with him, while PSG and several Saudi clubs had shown interest in the past. However, Barcelona's sporting director Deco has confirmed that they are tracking Marcus Rashford as well and may opt for the cheaper of the two options. Diaz's current market value is estimated at €85 million, according to Transfermarkt .

It is now reported that Liverpool are no longer interested in keeping Luis Diaz although he has been resourceful. If everything falls into place, Liverpool's total spending this season could exceed €320 million, with Diaz likely to become the first casualty. The club is confident that with the incoming arrivals, its attacking department will be replenished with stars superior to Diaz, SportBible said in a report. Striker Darwin Nunez, defender Kostas Tsimikas and goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher are others rumoured to be sold ahead of the next season, the report added.
