Emraan Hashmi Contracts Dengue On Sets Of His Telugu Debut Film OG In Mumbai, Shoot Halted
Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi, who has his hands full with the shoot of his Telugu debut, OG, is reportedly down with dengue. On Wednesday, reports claimed that the actor contracted dengue during the shoot of OG in Mumbai, and he has now been advised complete rest, at least for a week.
According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, Emraan was shooting in Aarey Colony in Goregaon, and the area is notorious for its mosquito population. "He began experiencing symptoms consistent with dengue and, upon medical consultation, was advised to undergo tests. The results unfortunately, confirmed the diagnosis," a source close the development told the portal.
Emraan reportedly informed the makers of OG of his condition, and apologised to them for not being able to continue with the shoot until he recovered. The makers have thus halted the shoot for time being and have asked the actor to focus on his health.
While the severity of his condition is not known yet, Emraan is reportedly recuperating at his home itself. "Once he feels better and gets a green signal from his doctors, he’ll return to the set and continue shooting for OG," the source said.
For those unversed, OG marks Emraan's first Telugu film, and it stars Pawan Kalyan in the lead. While Priyanka Mohan plays the female lead, Emraan will be seen essaying the role of the antagonist.
OG is being directed by Saaho fame, Sujeeth, and it is slated to his the silver screens on September 25, 2025.
