DGP motivates kids to adopt lifestyle based on education, moral values
The Director-General of Police, Haryana, Shatrujeet Kapur, on Tuesday called on the children to adopt a lifestyle based on education, sports and moral values. The DGP was addressing a gathering on the occasion of the foundation day celebration of Police DAV Public School in Ambala City.
In his address, the DGP said with the joint efforts of DAV institution and the Police Department, 22 Police DAV Schools in Haryana have become excellent education centres, in which about 24,000 students, including 8,000 children from police families, are studying. Along with studies, equal importance is given to character building, discipline and sports.
Kapur said soon under ‘B-Level Welfare Meeting’ Mission-2036 sports plan will be prepared, to prepare children for the Olympics level. He urged parents to protect their children from drug addiction and social media, and motivate them to focus on education, sports and art. He said, “Only those children who focus on studies, sports and any creative skill are successful in life.”
During the event, the DGP felicitated students who scored more than 90 per cent marks and players who won medals in Khelo India by giving them trophies and prizes.
On the occasion, the foundation stone of 265 kW on-grid solar power plant was also laid in the school. During the event, the students presented cultural programmes and made people aware of the ill-effects of drug abuse.
On the occasion, former Haryana DGP BS Sandhu, Ambala Range IG Pankaj Nain, Ambala SP Ajit Singh Shekhawat, school principal Dr Vikas Kohli and other senior members of the DAV institution were present.
