Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee honours armed forces at ‘Jai Hind Sabha’
The Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) organised a “Jai Hind Sabha” at Jawahar Bhawan on Wednesday to honour the armed forces for their swift and powerful response to recent terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. The event, led by DPCC president Devender Yadav, paid tribute to the bravery of soldiers during Operation Sindoor, the military operation launched in retaliation for the Pahalgam attacks.
The function saw participation from war veterans of the 1962, 1965, 1971, and Kargil conflicts, along with families of martyrs, UN Peacekeeping personnel, and gallantry award winners. Among the dignitaries present were senior Congress leaders including former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, AICC treasurer and Rajya Sabha MP Ajay Maken, AICC Delhi in-charge Qazi Nizamuddin, Col Rohit Chaudhary, and Mahila Congress president Alka Lamba.
Yadav praised the armed forces for their “precision strikes deep inside Pakistan” to decimate terrorism. He accused the Modi government of failing to support the military’s momentum by allegedly calling for a ceasefire under US pressure. “This was not just the voice of the Congress, but of the people of Delhi and India,” he said.
Yadav also questioned the foreign minister’s alleged tip-off to Pakistan and criticized the Prime Minister for not convening an all-party meeting or visiting Kashmir following the terror attacks.
Ajay Maken highlighted the Congress Working Committee’s repeated resolutions in support of Operation Sindoor and questioned PM Modi’s absence from conflict-affected areas. He also raised concerns over rising vacancies in the armed forces and India’s failure to have the TRF group designated as a terrorist outfit by the UN.
