Youth, goals & glory: Under-15 football league ends on a high note

The final whistle blew on Wednesday, bringing a thrilling close to the Under-15 School Football League — a three-day extravaganza of talent, tenacity and teamwork. The tournament united 16 schools across the region in a celebration of youthful energy and athletic promise.

With 16 boys’ teams and eight girls’ teams vying for glory, the league served as a vibrant platform for young athletes to showcase their football flair and team spirit. From fierce tackles to dazzling goals, every match reflected the enthusiasm and raw potential of the next generation of players.

In the boys’ category, Rose Public School, Nurpur emerged as the champions, defeating a formidable MTP School, Dharamsala in the final. The girls’ category was a display of true grit as the spirited squad from GSSS Gharoh, a government school, triumphed over the talented team from Stanford World School.

The tournament’s spirited closing ceremony was graced by Abhishek Dhullar, Inspector General, Northern Range, as the chief guest. Accompanying him were Shilpi Beakta, ADM, and Subhash Gautam, AC to DC, Kangra as guests of honour. IGP Dhullar emphasised the police department’s commitment to supporting such initiatives aimed at youth empowerment. ADM Beakta, in a special mention, lauded the girls of GSSS Gharoh for their exceptional performance, applauding their spirit and determination.

As the players shook hands, posed for photos, and carried their trophies high, the atmosphere buzzed with pride and promise. More than just a tournament, the Under-15 School Football League proved to be a celebration of sportsmanship, inclusivity and the bright future of Indian football.
