Saudi to SA, Op Sindoor gets support across world

India’s multi-party delegations touring the world to present the country’s position on Pakistan-sponsored terrorism on Wednesday continued to receive positive response from various countries – including Saudi Arabia and South Africa.

In Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh, the delegation led by BJP’s Baijayant Panda met Adel Al-Jubeir, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Wednesday and appreciated Saudi Arabia’s stand against terrorism. The Indian delegation also highlighted India’s zero tolerance towards terrorism and the new approach against terrorism.

Describing the exchange in Riyadh as meaningful, Panda said: “India and Saudi Arabia share a dynamic partnership rooted in trust and shared interests and a growing strategic bond.”

The delegation also met the Shura Council of Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Speaker, Dr Mishaal Al-Sulami and Maj Gen Abdulrahman Alharbi, Chair of the Saudi Arabia-India Friendship Committee.

In South Africa’s Cape Town, the delegation, led by NCP SP’s Supriya Sule, met parliamentarians and presented the Indian position. A moment of silence was also observed as a mark of solidarity with the victims of the Pahalgam attack.

Speaking with the Tribune, delegation member Vikramjit Sahney said India’s response remains firm, calibrated and rooted in its zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism.

He said there was a need for united global action to dismantle terror networks. “I recalled the historic friendship between India and South Africa, grounded in the values of Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela and emphasised that both nations, through their shared commitment to democracy and non-violence, must lead efforts in ensuring a peaceful and secure global order,” Sahney said.

The delegation to South Africa includes BJP’s Anurag Thakur, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Congress’ Manish Tewari and Anand Sharma and former Ambassador Syed Akbaruddin.
