Fortis Hospital organises sarpanch meet to promote rural family health awareness

Fortis Hospital, Ludhiana, organised a sarpanch meet in association with sarpanches from Ludhiana and periphery villages. The event, hosted at the hospital campus, aimed to build stronger community partnerships and raise awareness about family health, disease prevention and the importance of early medical care in rural Punjab.

The programme was inaugurated by Dr Vishavdeep Goyal, SBU Head and Zonal Director, Fortis Hospital, Ludhiana, in the presence of Dr Sanjeev Mahajan, Director, Orthopaedics; Dr Paramdeep Singh Sandhu, Director, Cardiology; Ravi Chauhan, Head, Marketing; and Gurpreet Singh, Sarpanch of Pind Uppal.

Welcoming the gathering, Gurpreet emphasised the vital role sarpanches played in improving the health of their communities. “Sarpanches are the bridge between healthcare services and families. We guide villagers toward preventive care and ensure no one is left behind. This collaboration with Fortis can become a landmark initiative in transforming rural healthcare,” he said.

The highlight of the event was the insightful health talks by two senior Fortis specialists.

As a special token of appreciation, Fortis Ludhiana announced the launch of a customised Fortis Privilege Card exclusively for sarpanches and their families. This card offers significant discounts on outpatient consultations (OPD), inpatient (IPD) admissions and a wide range of diagnostic investigations — making top-tier healthcare more accessible to the families of those who lead and serve the villages.

The event concluded with a joint pledge to collaborate on future health initiatives for rural families.
