Streaming platform JioHotstar has announced that the James Mangold directorial will start streaming on Saturday, May 31. This marks an exciting opportunity for those who want to experience the film that generated a lot of award-season chatter.
About ‘A Complete Unknown’
The film follows Bob Dylan as he arrives in the Big Apple, with fingers crossed that he makes it big in the music industry. With folk music dominating the '60s, he adopts a more unconventional approach that draws staunch criticism—incorporating the electric guitar into his songs, earning both ire and intrigue. While revolutionising music, he also grapples with personal difficulties—particularly his love life.
Alongside Chalamet stars Edward Norton, Elle Fanning, Monica Barbaro, Boyd Holbrook, and Scoot McNairy.
‘A Complete Unknown’ at the awards
Mangold’s biopic was among the most talked about during the awards season, and while it secured nominations at the top awards, it faced heavy competition with more popular contenders like Sean Baker’s Anora and Edward Berger’s Conclave, and hence, failed to clinch any substantial awards.
The film received multiple nominations—three at the Golden Globe Awards, three at the Critics Choice Awards, six at the BAFTAs, and a whopping eight Academy Awards nods. Chalamet did, however, win ‘Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role’ at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
