As director Nitesh Tiwari ("Dangal") is currently filming Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash, he is seemingly pulling out all stops to deliver a project with a scale and spectacle on par with the best from international cinema and to that end, has hired some of the most skilled professionals to work on the technical team. One of them is Australian stunt choreographer Guy Norris, a frequent collaborator of George Miller, having worked with him on Mad Max: The Road Warrior, Mad Max: Fury Road, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, and James Gunn's The Suicide Squad.

The behind-the-scenes pictures of Yash (who plays Ravana) and Norris working on an action sequence have been revealed by entertainment outlet Variety, which reports that Yash has committed to a 60/70-day shooting schedule. Yash, known for the blockbuster KGF films, works with Tiwari for the Indian mythological epic planned as a two-parter, with Namit Malhotra's Prime Focus Studios jointly producing the project alongside Yash's Monster Mind Creations.

Notably, Malhotra is also the CEO of DNEG, the company that's working on the visual effects of Ramayana and another highly anticipated Yash-starrer, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, directed by Geetu Mohandas.

The technical crew of Ramayana boasts some of the biggest names in Indian and international cinema, chiefly AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer, who are collaborating on the music. Two cinematographers are working on the team: Mahesh Limaye, who shot Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Heeramandi and Bajirao Mastani; Pankaj Kumar, who shot Tumbbad and Guns & Gulaabs.

The first part of Ramayana is slated for a 2026 release, with the second in 2027. Both films are penned by Shridhar Raghavan and Namit Malhotra.

Tiwari is a multiple National Film Award winner for his work in the films Chillar Party (his directorial debut) and Chhichhore.

Meanwhile, Toxic will hit theatres on March 19, 2026. The makers are shooting the film simultaneously in Kannada and English to ensure more reachability with global audiences.
