Meet man, who started with Rs 3,000, parted ways from uncle, built his own business of Rs 20000000000, his business is…, he is…

Ajay did pre-engineering diploma from Rohtak Government College. At the age of 18, he joined his uncle to set up a factory for manufacturing radio parts in Wazirabad, Delhi. It was started with an investment of Rs 3,000 and ran it for four years. At the same time he continued his education at Delhi University and completed a B.Com degree. Later on he sold this business for Rs 60,000 and shifted into the transport business.

Ajay did a lot of hardwork in the logistics business from booking and billing to timely delivery. He also started customizing trucks to meet market needs. When other providers used to charge Rs 3,000 for transporting goods from Delhi to Mumbai, Ajay used to take Rs 1,200. This cost-efficiency benefited his business.

Now Om Logistics Group has 5,000 employees and more than 5,000 trucks. It also handles automobile logistics and warehousing.

Ajay was the first in India who transported Maruti cars using modified trucks. He also invested in new technologies and innovation, which helped business in growth.

In 1990, Ajay parted ways with his uncle, taking 15 trucks to establish his firm, Om Auto Carriers, which he later registered as Om Logistics Limited in 1993. The company grew faster with many warehouses nationwide. By 2002, its turnover had reached Rs 100 crore.

In 2002, Om Logistics entered international logistics when Maruti required spare parts from China. The company continued to grow with a turnover of Rs 500 crore by 2008 and Rs 1,000 crore by 2015. Om Logistics has an annual turnover of more than Rs 2,000 crore.
