Programs Offered

The law school offers three core programs that balance foundational knowledge with professional readiness:

1)  A 5-Year Integrated B.A. LL.B. Program, for post-12th class students, focused on humanities and legal theory. It is ideal for those pursuing public interest law, judiciary or civil services.

2) A 5-Year Integrated BB.A. LL.B. (Hons.) Program, for post-12th class students, tailored for students aiming for corporate, commercial or international legal careers.

3) A 3-Year LL.B. Program, designed for graduates from any field, who seek a legal qualification with wide professional scope.

Minimum eligibility criteria is as follows:

3-Year LL.B.: Open to graduates/post-graduates (from any stream viz, Arts, Science or Commerce), from any institution recognised by UGC/AICTE/AIU or equivalent with minimum 45% (General), 42% (OBC), 40% (SC/ST) are eligible to apply.

5-Year Integrated Programs: Open to 12th pass students with similar minimum marks criteria.

No age limit.

Final-year students can apply provisionally.

The application process for admissions to law programs at DMHSL, for the academic year 2024-25, is currently underway.

DMHSL is accepting CLAT 2025 (Common Law Admission Test) / L-SAT 2025 (Law School Admission Test)/ MH-CET 2025 (Maharashtra Common Entrance Test) scorecards for admission to its law programs for the academic year 2025-26.

In case, you have not appeared for any of these law entrance examinations, then you can appear for H-LAT 2025 (HSNC University Law Aptitude Test). H-LAT is an online entrance exam and is scheduled to be conducted on multiple dates, viz, 28th May 2025, 3rd June 2025, 17th June 2025 and 30th June 2025. Industry-Relevant Curriculum & Practice-Oriented Training

D.M. Harish School of Law emphasises practical legal education through moot courts, in-house Indira Jaising Legal Aid Clinic, field visits and internship opportunities. Students are mentored by experienced faculty that includes practicing lawyers, judges and scholars. Notably, former Bombay High Court Judge, Justice Gautam Patel has also joined the faculty as Professor of Practice, bringing with him a wealth of judicial experience and offering students rare, unparalleled, first-hand insights from the bench to the classroom. Guest lectures, Master lecture series and mentorship programs too provide students with valuable insights from industry experts, enhancing their understanding of current legal practices and trends. These interactions offer students a deeper understanding of the legal profession and provide opportunities to network with leading figures in the field.

The curriculum fosters critical thinking and problem-solving skills, preparing students for real-world legal challenges. Through a combination of innovative teaching methods and experiential learning opportunities (such as interactive case studies, simulation exercises, moot court competitions, client counselling competitions, lively debates, (MUN) Model United Nations and the integration of technology in the classroom), students are equipped with both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience.

Students learn how to structure and draft complicated financial transactions, often using real-life deals as a starting point. In litigation-based simulations, students practice examining witnesses, presenting evidence and delivering oral arguments, while in transactional simulations, they develop skills in interviewing and advising clients, negotiating disputes and drafting contracts, skills that are essential for success in today’s fast-paced legal environment.. These simulation sessions allow students to take on the role of a lawyer, honing the fundamental skills required to excel in any area of the legal profession.

Students are encouraged to intern with top law firms, corporations, NGOs and government agencies, gaining valuable practical experience and insight into the legal landscape.
