Assam's tea industry faces a major threat as new EU regulations restrict key chemical compounds used in tea production. The Tea Research Association Tocklai warns that these restrictions on Thiamethoxam, Clothianidin, and Thiacloprid could severely impact tea exports to the EU and UK, potentially affecting 40 million kgs of Assam tea annually.
