13-Year-Old Girl Found Dead In Suspicious Circumstances In Delhi’s Sitapuri

A minor girl was found dead in her home in Delhi's Sitapuri on Thursday afternoon. The police received a call about the discovery of the body at 1:45 PM. Upon receiving the call, a local police team and senior officers immediately rushed to the location. At the scene, the body of the 13-year-old girl was found under suspicious circumstances in a room situated on the terrace of the third floor of a building.

A crime investigation team and the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team were called to examine the scene thoroughly. No signs of sexual assault were found during the preliminary investigation.

A case has been registered under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code, and an investigation is currently underway to determine the cause and motive behind the girl's death.

Teen-death incidents in Delhi

This is not the first of a kind incident in Delhi. Over the last couple of months, teen death incidents involving girls have been reported. These have sent shock waves across the city. A couple of weeks ago, a 16-year-old girl was found hanging from a tree in Japanese Park, Delhi's Rohini. 

Another incident that caused massive disaapointment among residents involved the 19-year-old youth stabbing case, allegedly done by two brothers, in Northeast Delhi's Gokalpuri on April 7, 2025. 

With the incident sparking tension in the area, police said 100 Rapid Police Force personnel were deployed to maintain peace. Two men, Shahrukh (19) and Sahil Khan (22) were arrested on and booked under BNS sections 103(1) and 3(5), pertaining to murder and common intention, respectively.

Only last week, a teenager was stabbed 11 times in the chest, another teen-death in Delhi. The incident occurred around 2:30 PM on May 22, 2025 in Delhi's Burari area, where a 16-year-old boy was stabbed in the chest in front of his friend while riding his motorbike. Police have apprehended two minors in connection with the case.
