Breaking News: Shahbaz Sharif Admits Pakistan Was Shocked by India’s Military Response, Seeks Dialogue | ABP NEWS
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has admitted the extent of damage caused by India’s military retaliation following Operation Sindoor. While addressing a forum in Azerbaijan, Sharif revealed that the Pakistani army was caught off guard by India’s precision strikes on May 10. He stated that after the Fajr prayers, the Pakistani military was preparing for an offensive, but India preemptively launched missile attacks—reportedly using BrahMos—targeting Pakistani air bases including those in Rawalpindi. Sharif’s candid admission highlights the shockwaves India’s response sent through Pakistan’s defense ranks. Now, Sharif is travelling globally, speaking about the damage and urging countries to facilitate dialogue with India. Pakistan is even requesting the revival of the Indus Water Treaty and proposing enhanced trade ties. However, India remains firm: no dialogue unless Pakistan withdraws support for terrorism and addresses the PoK (Pakistan-occupied Kashmir) issue. New Delhi asserts that talks can only proceed after concrete steps from Islamabad to dismantle terror infrastructure.
