Amid ‘Hera Pheri 3’ legal drama, Suniel Shetty calls Paresh Rawal a ‘wonderful human being’

There is no bad blood between longtime co-stars Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal, despite the legal controversy surrounding the latter. Rawal, who was sued by Akshay Kumar for dropping out of Hera Pheri 3, celebrates his 70th birthday today.
Shetty took to X (formerly Twitter) to extend birthday wishes to Rawal, calling him a “wonderful human being”. He wrote: “To the man... Who is a powerhouse of both Wit & Wisdom and an even more wonderful human being. Happy happy birthday Pareshji. Much love and respect always [sic].”
Rawal retweeted the message, acknowledging the message and thanking him. “Anna thanks this means a lot,” the actor wrote.
Earlier, Kumar, who served Rawal the notice, came to the defence of the actor after he received hate, expressing continued admiration for Rawal and calling him “a good friend”. “Using this kind of word for one of my co-stars like a foolish word or something. I would not appreciate it, and that's not right. I worked with him since the last 30-35 years, we are very good friends. He's a great actor and I really admire him.”
The issue ensued when Kumar’s production banner, Cape of Good Films, in response to Rawal’s exit, filed a Rs 25 crore damages suit against Rawal over his departure. The lawyer representing the firm said that the actor would face “severe legal consequences” as the exit caused a financial dent in the production.
Rawal’s legal team fired back saying that certain terms were not met that led to his “rightful termination”, such as the lack of a script and long-form agreement. “First they accepted the monies but later unfortunately sent an untenable notice to our client when knowingly nothing was and is ready including no story and cloud over the title: so there can never be any loss. I hope they would accept this reality and move on from our client (sic),” the lawyer stated.
