New Credit Card Rules: From June 1, 2025, crores of customers of Kotak Mahindra Bank, Axis Bank and HDFC Bank are going to get a shock. The bank is going to make a big change in the airport lounge access, fuel charge and reward system of its credit card. All these changes are necessary for those customers who often spend bills, fuel, rent or other expenses on credit card. Now reward points will either not be available on reward points for many essential expenses like electricity-water bills, school-fees, wallet loading, fuel, rent, government service, insurance and online gaming or will be available only till a fixed timeline.

Kotak Mahindra Bank

is going to make a big change in all its credit card reward systems. For example, there will be no reward on rent and fuel on Kotak Privy League Signature card, and only up to Rs 75,000 will be rewarded on utility bills. Apart from this, now a new 1% transaction charge will also be levied on many cards if you spend more than the set limit on rent, education, wallet load, utility, fuel or online gaming. For example, this charge will be applicable on utility expenses of more than Rs 75,000 or fuel expenses of more than Rs 50,000. The interest rate of cards is also being increased. Now 3.75% (45% annually) will be charged every month. A dynamic currency conversion charge of 2% to 5% will be levied on international transactions. Along with this, the charge on failed auto debit instructions will also increase and now the minimum amount due will be 1% of the total outstanding.

Axis Bank

Axis Bank is making changes to its reward cards from 20 June 2025. Now getting reward points will not be based on merchant code as before but on the category of expenditure. This will make it easier for customers to understand on which expenditure reward will be received, but many expenses may also be out of reward. However, Axis has also added some new offers on Swiggy, which can give relief to food lovers.

HDFC Bank

HDFC Bank is also not behind. From 10 June 2025, the rules for airport lounge access on Tata Neu Infinity Credit Card are changing. Now direct entry will not be available from the card, but on spending Rs 50,000 every quarter, a voucher will be received through SMS / email, which has to be claimed within 120 days and used in 180 days. Domestic lounge benefits will be available only 8 times every year, and international access will remain the same as before. RuPay cardholders will now also have to pay an additional charge of $3.25 per visit.
