Jyeshtha Vinayak Chaturthi 2025: Jyeshtha Vinayak Chaturthi will be celebrated today, on May 30. This festival is observed every month on the Chaturthi Tithi of Shukla Paksha and is dedicated to the worship of Lord Ganesha. On this auspicious day, devotees perform rituals with devotion and observe fasts to seek success in important endeavors. Lord Ganesha is believed to remove all forms of obstacles and bring peace and prosperity when worshipped with sincerity.
Vinayak Chaturthi falls a day before the Panchami Tithi of the Shukla Paksha every month. It is considered highly auspicious for pleasing Lord Ganesha, and observing this fast is said to eliminate sorrows and difficulties from one’s life. It is also believed to strengthen Budh in one’s horoscope.
On this sacred occasion, devotees worship Lord Ganesha—the giver of wisdom, success, and prosperity—with great reverence. In Sanatan Dharma, Lord Ganesha is worshipped first in all auspicious rituals and ceremonies. Both Krishna Paksha and Shukla Paksha Chaturthi Tithis are significant for Ganesha worship, and fasting on these days is a common tradition that brings joy, peace, and wealth into life.
Lord Ganesha, known as Vighnaharta, bestows blessings on those who observe the fast and perform his Puja during the auspicious muhurat with proper rituals.

The Chaturthi that falls during the Krishna Paksha after Purnima is known as Sankashti Chaturthi, while the one during the Shukla Paksha after Amavasya is called Vinayak Chaturthi. There are approximately 12 to 13 Vinayak Chaturthis in a year. This festival is celebrated in various northern and southern states of India.
Puja Vidhi
On this day, devotees wake up early in the morning to worship Lord Ganesha and observe a fast. In the evening, the idol of Lord Ganesha is decorated with fresh flowers. After moonrise, the puja is performed, the Vinayak Chaturthi Vrat Katha is read, and only then is the fast considered complete.
