Angry Mahesh Babu Fans Vandalise Theatre, Fight With Staff Over Missing Scenes In Khaleja Re-Release (VIDEO)
Fans of Mahesh Babu thronged theatres as his 2010 film, Khaleja, was re-released, however, their experience was marred after they realised that several scenes of the actor were trimmed and deleted in the new version. As a result, angry fans were seen vandalising a theatre and fighting with the staff, demanding answers.
While the exact location of the incident is not known, several videos have gone viral online in which fans of Mahesh Babu can be seen causing a ruckus inside a theatre. They argued with the projectionist and demanded that the version playing on screen be stopped, and instead, the full version of Khaleja be screened.
"Songs, scenes and dialogues are missing from the film, what are we supposed to do with this re-release? That’s why fans are creating a ruckus (sic)," a fan wrote on X in Telugu, sharing a video of chaos inside a theatre.
Khaleja makers add missing scenes
After news about the chaos and upheaval went viral, exhibitors shared that they only played the content in theatres that was shared by the makers. "We have seen a few tweets that few scenes/ song have not been screened. So please be aware and do not let us down by creating unnecessary issues. Pls understand," exhibitors said in a statement.
The makers of Khaleja later tweeted, "EVERYTHING SORTED. Enjoy Khaleja 4K to the fullest in theatres near you (sic)," assuring that the missing scenes were added to the re-release version and will now be screened at all theatres.
Meanwhile, Mahesh Babu has not reacted to the chaos yet.
Khaleja, which released in 2010, also starred Prakash Raj, Anushka Shetty, Rao Ramesh, and others in key roles.
