'Height Of Shamelessness': Netizens Slam Kerala Community In Dubai For Warmly Welcoming Shahid Afridi To An Event; Watch Video

Ex-Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi was welcomed with absolute pomp during an event in Dubai by a Kerala community, triggering negative reactions among the netizens. The negative reactions came in the wake of the former Pakistan captain taking a venomous stand against India following a recent terror attack in Pahalgam that resulted in the death of 26 civilians.

With Pakistan's militant groups allegedly behind committing the attack and the country's government coming under the scanner, Afridi had obnoxiously blamed the Indian Army, calling them incompetent. During a talk show, he had said:

"Tum logon ki 8 lakh ki fauj wahan baithi hai yaar Kashmir mein aur yeh incident ho gaya hai. Iska matlab yeh hai nalayak nikamme ho tum log ki security aap de nahin sakte." (You have an army of 8 lakh which is placed in Kashmir and the incident took place. What it means is the Army hasn't been responsible enough to give their people enough security)

In light of this, the Kerala community in Dubai giving a warm welcome to Afridi didn't sit well with the netizens. The 48-year-old, nevertheless, was all praise for the audience, expressing his gratitude to them and saying how much he loves Kerala food. However, the veteran's Youtube and X accounts were banned in India after the Pahalgam incident, much like most other Pakistani cricketers' and certain news channels.

The ban from India also extended to Instagram.

Pakistani tennis player comes under the scanner during U16 Davis Cup

Meanwhile, a Pakistani Tennis player also came under the scanner for his unsportsmanlike handshake after a loss to his Indian counterpart in the U16 Davis Cup match recently. With the Indian player offering a handshake after the match, the Pakistani player disrespectfully did it and shrugged it off dismissively as a video of the same surfaced on social media.

As far as cricketing relations between India and Pakistan go, they haven't played a bilateral series since 2012 and are highly unlikely to in the near future. Their matches in the ICC events and Asia Cup are still under discussion.
