Mumbai Indians icon Rohit Sharma was in his element against Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2025 Eliminator on Friday. The veteran batter smashed 81 runs off 50 balls before being dismissed in the 17th over of the game in Mullanpur. The "Hitman" punished Shubman Gill's bowlers with nine fours and four sixes before Purple Cap leader Prasidh Krishna managed to end his stay in the middle.

Jonny Bairstow (47 off 22) and Rohit gave Mumbai Indians the perfect start as they combined to hammer 84 runs in just 4 overs. The duo managed 79 runs in the batting powerplay after GT fielders dropped the former batter twice. First, Gerald Coetzee failed to hold onto a mishit in the second over bowled by Prasidh Krishna. In the following over, wicketkeeper Kusal Mendis dropped a comparatively easier chance after Mohammed Siraj managed to get an edge off Rohit Sharma's bat.
