FLO blends style & substance at ‘A style called her’ event
The Amritsar chapter of FICCI FLO ((FICCI Ladies Organisation) hosted “A Style Called Her”, an evening that blended fashion, presence and purpose, showcasing identity and sisterhood. The event was a key initiative under FLO’s national and local banners, Swabhiman and Apni Pehchaan, reinforcing its commitment to meaningful empowerment.
Bhavana Singh, TEDx speaker, image transformation coach and founder of ‘Transform with Bhavana’, was the keynote speaker and conducted a workshop that explored the deeper dimensions of style — posture, clarity and the art of being seen. Her session offered women practical tools to embody confidence and communicate their presence with intention.
Believing that bigger changes are not the key to transform your personality and presence, Bhavana said, “Big changes are not required, essentially it is the smaller changes that need to be considered for changing your personal style, presence and personality.” Bhavana stressed on retaining individuality while you work on yourself.
Additionally, the evening saw four designers — Label Libas, Label Lehnaaz, Minny Sandhu and GHP² (Garima’s Handprints n Patterns) from the city unveiling their latest collections through a curated fashion show. Each round reflected a distinctive theme — from Punjabi tradition and blazer-powered silhouettes to heritage art and timeless love stories.
FLO Amritsar announced two significant initiatives as well. Phuljab, founded by Nikita Khurana, was introduced as a venture reviving Punjab’s iconic Phulkari embroidery on sneakers, enabling local women artisans to access new-age markets.
FLO also announced the opening of a Skill Training Centre at Mission Deep, an educational non-profit venture that runs free school for girls, equipped with sewing machines and hands-on training. “It is a practical move towards economic independence for women,” she said.
Another highlight was the signing of an MoU with Khalsa College for Women, that outlines a multi-faceted collaboration including paid internships and job opportunities through FLO’s business network, certified skill-building programmes and workshops, developing a smooth access to employment, awareness sessions on MSME registration, subsidies and self-employment, teacher training in mental healing and emotional wellness, informed Mona Singh, Chairperson, FLO Amritsar.
A special engagement has been planned with the college’s fashion designing department for guest lectures and certified internships. The partnership reflects FLO’s commitment to empowering students with real-world exposure and industry readiness.
Chairperson Mona Singh closed the evening by honouring the stylists, artists and contributors who shaped the experience. Her address reaffirmed FLO Amritsar’s mission — to stand for women who lead with elegance, act with courage and inspire by being wholly themselves.
