'Make Sure Door Remains Closed': US President Donald Trump's Special Advice To Emmanuel Macron After Viral 'Slap' Video (WATCH)

Washington DC: US President Donald Trump on Friday (local time) reacted to a viral video of his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte during their Vietnam visit. Trump called the couple "really good people". He also gave a special advice to the couple.

When asked about the viral video during a press briefing in the Oval Office, Trump said that he had a word with Macron directly. “They’re two really good people I know very well, and I don’t know what that was all about," Donald Trump said as reported by News18.

While responding to a reporter's query if he had any marital advice for Macron and his wife, Trump replied, "Make sure the door remains closed."

Earlier this week, the video went viral on social media, and the French President could be seen moving his face away from Brigette's hand. Netizens interpreted that Brigette 'slapped' Macron and the incident was part of a dispute between the two.

The viral video sparked a possibility of a dispute between Macron and his wife. However, Macron denied rumours of ant domestic dispute with his wife. He said that they were "joking as we often do". The French President said that the video had been misinterpreted. "None of these are true" and "everyone needs to calm down", he said as reported by AFP.

Macron first met 39-year-old Brigette when he was 15 years old at La Providence High School. Brigette was a teacher in the school. The couple got married in October 2007.
