Attention Thanekars! Traffic Police Announces Night Road Closures For Mumbai Metro Line 4 Work At Nagla Bunder Until June 21; Check Alternate Routes
Thane: The Thane traffic police announced night road closures due to the ongoing construction work of Mumbai Metro Line 4. The traffic restrictions will be in effect from May 29 to June 21, between Nagla Bunder Signal and Indian Oil Pump, and from Nagla Bunder to Bhayandarpada. Within the limits of Kasarvadavali Traffic Sub-Division, the work of Mumbai Metro Line 4 will be carried out during this period. To ensure smooth traffic flow, alternative routes will be provided.
This work is being undertaken in the Kasarvadavali Transport Sub-Division under the jurisdiction of Thane Municipal Corporation, through MMRDA, and executed by J. Kumar Infraproject Ltd. The tasks include T & L precast and I & U girder installation, which will be carried out on different days between Nagla Bunder Signal and Indian Oil Pump and Nagla Bunder and Bhayandarpada on both sides of Metro Line 4.
During this time, the main road will be closed to heavy vehicle traffic on certain stretches of the Thane-Ghodbunder Road. This is necessary to avoid traffic congestion in the area and to maintain smooth and safe traffic flow for the public.
Road Closures & Traffic Restrictions
Closure Point 1:
Entry closed: Gaimukh station on the Thane Ghodbunder channel. & U Grider, all heavy vehicles going towards Ghodbunder will be stopped at Pillar no. 85 is being 'closed off'.
Alternate Route: Thane to Gaimukh station on Ghodbunder channel. & U All heavy vehicles during operation of the grid pillar no. 85 from Ghodbunder Thane main road in the opposite direction and further to Pillar no. 102. From here, take a left turn and proceed to the desired destination via the main road in front of the Indian Oil Pump.
Second Alternate Route: All types of light vehicles during operation of I & U Grider of Gaimukh Station on Ghodbunder Thane Channel at pillar no. 85 and take the service road nearby, and proceed to the desired destination on the main road in front of the Indian Oil Pump.
Closure Point 2:
Entry closed: During girder work on Ghodbundar Thane Channel, all types of vehicles going towards Thane are being 'Entry closed' near Nagla Port and Asha Wine Shop.
Alternate Route: Nagla Bunder on Ghodbunder Thane channel while working on 1 & U Grider. All types of vehicles will take the service road from Nagla Bunder DP 75, 76 and Asha Wine Shop via the service road to Lodha Splendora on the Ghodbunder Thane channel main line to a desired destination.
Work Timing
The traffic changes will be in effect daily between 11:00 PM and 4:00 AM until the completion of the work on June 21.
Exempted Vehicles
Police vehicles, fire brigade, ambulances, green corridor transports, and oxygen gas carriers are exempt from these restrictions. Residents and commuters are urged to plan travel accordingly, follow traffic signage, and cooperate with traffic police. These changes are essential to ensure the timely and safe progress of the Mumbai Metro Line 4 project.
