Virat Kohli’s sister Bhawna overjoyed as RCB defeat PBKS to seal IPL 2025 final spot

New Delhi: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) won eight wickets on the way to beating Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Qualifier 1, qualifying for their fourth IPL final. RCB has not been to the final since 2016. On Instagram, Bhawna Kohli Dhingra, sister of Virat Kohli, shared her happiness about the win.

Bhawna took to Instagram after Royal Challengers Bangalore won comfortably. Having a “Finals” sticker and an amulet emoji in her story showed she was proud of the team and wished they would finally break their 18-year run without winning the IPL.

Punjab Kings (PBKS) did not last long at the crease, being bowled out by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for 101 in only 14.1 overs. RCB started the match by bowling well, thanks to Josh Hazlewood (3/21), Suyash Sharma (3/17) and Yash Dayal (2/26) which left PBKS reeling at 48/4 in the powerplay.

The team of Royal Challengers Bangalore managed to win comfortably, even after early losses of Virat Kohli and Mayank Agarwal. United had scored the needed 159 runs thanks to Phil Salt’s quickfire knock of 56* from 27 balls alongside Rajat Patidar’s 15* as Royal had no more than eight wickets remaining by the 10th over.

Suyash Sharma received the Player of the Match award for his decisive bowling performance.

Following the game, Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Rajat Patidar praised Suyash Sharma’s strong showing. “I think we were clear in our plans, how we have to bowl. I think the fast bowlers used the surface really well. The way Suyash chipped in, the way he bowled his lines and lengths, that was really good. As a captain, I am clear about his bowling. He has to target the stumps, that’s his strength. His wrong ‘un is difficult to read for the batters. I always want to give him clear ideas, I don’t want to confuse him. I am okay if he concedes a few runs (in the process.) We have had a lot of practice sessions throughout the tournament, so one day of not practising won’t harm you.”
