Karate Kid Legends Box Office Day 1: Jackie Chan-Ralph Macchio's Film Opens To Lukewarm Numbers In India

'Karate Kid Legends', the much awaited martial arts drama starring Ben Wang and Jackie Chan, debuted on Indian screens on May 30. Despite the buzz surrounding its release and a stellar cast, the film’s opening performance fell short of expectations.

Directed by Jonathan Entwistle and produced by Karen Rosenfelt, 'Karate Kid Legends' marks a significant chapter in the beloved franchise. It is the first entry in the series to be rated PG-13, and notably, the first Karate Kid film not produced by the late Jerry Weintraub. However, the film’s long-awaited debut has been met with mixed reactions at the box office.

'Karate Kid Legends' Box Office Day 1

Sacnilk reports that 'Karate Kid Legends' made a respectable Rs 1.75 crore on its first day of release in India. While regional audiences reacted with somewhat higher numbers, English-language screenings of the movie had a comparatively low occupancy of 10.11%. The occupancy rates for Telugu were 11.92%, Hindi was 6.05%, and Tamil was 17.72%.

The movie did the best at night, with 14.20% occupancy, according to the breakdown by showtimes; morning and afternoon showings did not do as well.
