Gujarat Titans Players Who Could Face The Axe Ahead Of Next IPL Season

Gujarat Titans' Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 campaign came to a disappointing end after their defeat to Mumbai Indians in the Eliminator.

At one point, Gujarat Titans (GT) were leading the points table and were strong contenders for a spot in Qualifier 1 and even the final. But a sudden dip in form over the last three league matches completely changed their course.

A loss to LSG knocked them off the top spot, and Royal Challengers Bangalore's (RCB) win pushed them out of the top two.

While players like Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill, Jos Buttler, Prasidh Krishna, and Mohammed Siraj stood out with strong performances, some high-profile players underperformed and failed to live up to expectations despite hefty price tags. These players may now be on the chopping block ahead of the next season.

GT Players Likely to Be Released Before IPL 2026

1. Shahrukh Khan: The middle-order batter was given multiple opportunities, playing in 13 matches, but could only score 147 runs, with just one half-century. In the high-pressure Eliminator against Mumbai, he was dismissed for just 13 runs, adding to the frustration around his inconsistent performance.

2. Rashid Khan - Rs 18 Crore (Retained): Retained by Gujarat Titans for Rs 18 crore in the mega auction, Rashid Khan had one of his most forgettable seasons. In 13 matches, he managed just 8 wickets and conceded a record 33 sixes - the most ever by a bowler in a single IPL season. Known for his tight bowling and economy, Rashid's poor form this year was a major blow to GT's campaign.

3. Ishant Sharma - Rs 75 Lakh: The experienced Indian pacer was signed for Rs 75 lakh but failed to make a mark. Ishant played 7 matches and took just 4 wickets, struggling to make an impact in key moments.
