AIIMS Raipur nurse develops patented respiratory device to curb airborne infections

Arokiaraj U, a Senior Nursing Officer at AIIMS Raipur, has invented the Highly Oxygenated Aerosol Controlled (HOAC) Combo, a closed-system respiratory support unit. The Indian Patent Office granted a utility patent for the device, designed to minimize airborne infections during respiratory procedures. Currently in prototype development, the HOAC Combo was showcased at the India Innovation Summit 2025.
