Maharashtra Govt Mandates HSRP For Vehicles Registered Before April 2019; Check Eligibility, Process & Deadline

Mumbai, May 31: The Government of Maharashtra has made it mandatory for all vehicles registered before April 1, 2019 to have High-Security Registration Plates (HSRP). This rule was announced on December 4, last year and the last date to install HSRP is June 30, 2025.

What is HSRP?

HSRP is a special number plate that has a unique identification number which helps prevent vehicle-related crimes. It cannot be tampered with easily.

Who Needs to Follow This?

All vehicle owners in Maharashtra with vehicles registered before April 1, 2019 will have to get the High-Security Registration Plates (HSRP) before June 30, 2025.

How to Apply for HSRP:

1. Visit: https://transport.maharashtra.gov.in

2. Click on HSRP Online Booking.

3. Enter your RTO code (first 4 digits of your vehicle registration number).

4. You’ll be redirected to the authorized HSRP vendor’s site.

5. Fill in vehicle details and book a time slot.

6. Visit the selected fitment center at the chosen time to get the HSRP installed.

Authorised Zones and Vendors:

For the purpose of HSRP (High-Security Registration Plate) installation, Maharashtra has been divided into three zones, each assigned specific RTO codes and authorised vendors. Zone 1 includes RTO codes such as MH04, MH09, MH26, MH27, MH29 and others. The authorised vendor for this zone is Rosmerta Safety Systems Ltd and vehicle owners can book their HSRP through the website hsrprsm.com.

Zone 2 covers RTO codes like MH01, MH03, MH05, MH06 and more. The designated vendor for this region is Real Mazon India Ltd and bookings can be made at hsrpmazonline.in.

Zone 3 comprises RTO codes such as MH02, MH07, MH10, MH15, among others. The authorised vendor for this zone is FTA HSRP Solutions Pvt. Ltd and the official booking portal is maharashtra.hsrp.in.

Vehicle owners must visit the respective website based on their vehicle’s RTO code to book an appointment and get their HSRP affixed.

Important Notes:

Vehicles with fake or lookalike number plates will be penalised.

Only use the official vendors listed above.

Fine for non-compliance: ₹1000 under Motor Vehicle Act.

Deadline: 30th June 2025

Install the plate before this date to avoid fines.
