‘I know my job well…..’: Jasprit Bumrah’s gesture to Mumbai Indians coach during MI vs GT IPL 2025 Playoff clash goes viral
New Delhi: In the eliminator match of IPL 2025, Mumbai Indians defeated Gujarat Titans by 20 runs to make it to Qualifier-2. In this high-scoring match held at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Mohali, both the teams together scored more than 430 runs, but Jasprit Bumrah‘s classic bowling of one over turned the whole match.
Chasing the big target of 229 runs, Gujarat got off to a slow start. Captain Shubman Gill was out early but Sai Sudarshan (80 runs) and Washington Sundar (48 runs) breathed life into the match by sharing 84 runs for the third wicket. It seemed that Gujarat could win the match but then Bumrah came. He explained to the coach through gestures that don’t worry, I know what to do.
When the pressure on Gujarat’s batting was easing, Mumbai Indians’ head coach Mahela Jayawardene and batting coach Kieron Pollard came from the dugout to give some instructions to Bumrah from the boundary line. On this, Bumrah confidently gestured that relax, I know what to do. Hindi broadcaster Jatin Sapru decoded the conversation between the coach and Bumrah. He told that Bumrah was probably telling the coach to just let me work.
When Bumrah returned to bowling in the 14th over, he bowled Sundar with a perfect yorker on the very first ball. This was the moment when the direction of the match changed completely. Soon after this, Sudarshan was also out and Gujarat’s hopes ended there.
Bumrah bowled brilliantly
Bumrah took one wicket for just 27 runs in four overs but his impact remained on the entire match. He has taken 18 wickets so far this season and has emerged as the most reliable bowler for Mumbai Indians. With this win, Mumbai Indians have prepared to face Punjab Kings in Qualifier-2. On the other hand, Gujarat Titans’ journey ended here in this season.
