Odisha Reports Seven New COVID-19 Cases

Bhubaneswar: Odisha has recorded seven new COVID-19 cases over the past two days, with five cases reported on Friday and two on Saturday, a state health official confirmed.

Aswathy S., Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the Health and Family Welfare Department, stated that the situation is under control and urged the public not to panic.

She said that several previously detected cases have recovered, and the current number of active cases in Odisha remains minimal and well-managed.

The state is closely monitoring the situation in coordination with the Union Health Ministry and holding regular review meetings to ensure preparedness, the Health Secretary added.

The circulating variant is mild, with low virulence, as per reports from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the Union Health Ministry. The public need not worry, she emphasized.

India’s active COVID-19 cases have risen to 3,395, with more than 1,430 patients discharged, according to the Union Health Ministry.
