Indian Coach Leads Greek Badminton Team To Over 20 Medals In Training Camp

Indian badminton coach Abhishek Bawa recently oversaw a medal-winning campaign for Greece’s national team during a high-performance training camp, contributing to their preparations for upcoming national and international tournaments.

The Greek Badminton Federation invited Bawa to lead an intensive training programme for its top-tier players. The camp culminated in over 20 medals won by Greek athletes during a series of competitions organised as part of the training period. Greek players secured 12 gold, 5 silver, and 3 bronze medals across the Senior, U-19, and U-17 categories, reflecting the impact of the coaching on multiple age groups.

Speaking on the achievement, Bawa said, “This achievement reflects the hard work and dedication of the players and the trust placed in me by the Greek Badminton Federation,” said Coach Bawa. “It’s been an incredible journey to work with such talented and disciplined athletes. I’m proud of their performance and growth over this period.”

Bawa, who has previously worked with elite-level athletes in Asia, the USA, and India, applied a training regime emphasising tactical play, physical conditioning, and mental resilience.

Officials and players in Greece have described the collaboration as a significant step for badminton in the country, with discussions underway on potential future engagements.
