Spent 100 days in making policies, working for Delhi’s betterment : CM
Marking 100 days of the BJP government in Delhi, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday said her dispensation was focused on honest governance, public welfare and structural reforms, as she accused the previous government of civic neglect.
At a public event held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Chief Minister Gupta underscored her administration’s emphasis on creating solid policies instead of making unrealistic promises. “My government spent 100 days in making policies and working for the betterment of Delhi. We can’t make false promises. We are working honestly to solve issues like cleaning of the Yamuna and removal of garbage dumps,” she said.
Gupta announced plans to bring in an ordinance aimed at regulating fee in private schools. “Education should be accessible and fair,” she said.
The CM also praised the Vaya Vandana scheme, which provides health insurance coverage of up to Rs 10 lakh for residents aged 70 and above. “Around 1.5 lakh registrations have already been completed,” she said.
Taking aim at the previous AAP government, Gupta accused it of betraying the public’s trust. “Thousands joined the movement hoping for change, but the people who claimed to have no hunger for power became consumed by it,” she said. Further criticising the earlier administration’s approach, she questioned, “How can the national capital be the most polluted when cleaning the Yamuna was never even considered seriously?”
