Free Aadhaar Card Update Deadline Extended; Step-By-Step Guide To Change Your Address
Indian citizens now have until June 14, 2025, to update their Aadhaar details online for free. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has extended the earlier deadline of December 14, 2024, giving Aadhaar holders an additional six months to make changes to their demographic details, such as Proof of Identity (PoI) and Proof of Address (PoA), through the myAadhaar portal.
Starting June 15, 2025, any updates made at physical Aadhaar enrolment centers will attract a fee of Rs 50 per request, which remains the same as the current offline charge.
UIDAI has encouraged Aadhaar holders, particularly those who received their Aadhaar more than 10 years ago and have never updated it, to take advantage of this free window. Updating your information helps ensure the accuracy of your Aadhaar record and minimizes the chances of service disruptions or denial of government benefits due to outdated details.
