Interrogation Movie Review: A Gripping Whodunit That Keeps You Hooked Till The End

In recent times, smaller budget films have been surprising audiences with powerful content. While they may lack big promotional budgets, the storytelling often surpasses that of big-banner productions. Interrogation, streaming on ZEE5, is a fine example of this trend.

It’s a tightly packed thriller that runs for just 95 minutes and doesn’t give you a moment to breathe. With an engaging plot and strong performances, this film is a must-watch for lovers of suspense dramas.

Plot:

The story revolves around the mysterious murder of a retired judge. Suspicion falls on four close acquaintances who visited him on the day of the murder. What follows is a series of intense interrogations. As the layers unfold, the truth that comes out will leave you shocked. The film plays with your expectations, and just when you think you’ve figured it out, it flips the game.

Review:

Interrogation is a solid thriller. If you enjoy suspense-filled narratives that keep you guessing till the end, this film will not disappoint. The screenplay stays tight, and there’s no unnecessary stretching of the story. In fact, it moves so fast that you might even wish it were a bit longer — which is rare for thrillers. Each character gets limited screen time, but the impact is strong, thanks to excellent casting.

Performances:

The performances in Interrogation are a major strength of the film. Rajpal Yadav delivers a controlled yet impactful performance, showcasing a side of him that goes beyond his usual comic roles. Yashpal Sharma fits seamlessly into his part and adds weight to every scene he's in.

Darshan Jariwala, as expected, brings a quiet intensity, while Girish Kulkarni and Manu Singh leave a solid impression — especially Manu, who delivers a surprising twist. Abhimanyu Singh, despite a brief role, stands out, and Rutuja Shinde proves to be a strong presence, impressing with both her screen presence and acting chops.

Each actor, even with limited screen time, makes their character memorable and contributes effectively to the film’s suspense.

Writing & Direction:

The story is written by Sanil Kokate, Harsh Shah, and Ajoy Varma Raja, and they’ve done a commendable job of crafting a tight, engaging narrative. The suspense is maintained throughout, and the writing doesn’t meander. Directed by Ajoy Varma Raja, the film is shot across limited locations, but that never feels like a limitation — a testament to smart direction and storytelling.

Final Verdict:

Interrogation is a fast-paced, smartly written whodunit that keeps the suspense alive till the very end. With strong performances and a gripping story, it achieves what it sets out to do. If you’re a fan of thrillers, this one is worth your time.
