WATCH: Preity Zinta’s wild celebration as Shreyas Iyer leads PBKS into IPL 2025 Final goes VIRAL

New Delhi: Punjab Kings won the IPL 2025 second qualifier by five wickets against the Mumbai Indians. Kings were led to a win at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on June 1 by skipper Shreyas Iyer, who scored 87 not out off 41 balls and hit ten fours and eight sixes. His six in the 19th over off Ashwani Kumar helped the Punjab Kings reach the IPL final.

After Punjab Kings won, co-owner Preity Zinta cheered enthusiastically for Iyer’s great innings. Everyone shared Zinta’s recent video after it was shared by the IPL on X.

Iyer became the first captain to lead three separate IPL teams to the finals and the first to reach consecutive IPL finals with two different teams.

Iyer’s 84-run partnership with Nehal Wadhera (48 runs) and his undefeated 38 runs stand alongside Marcus Stoinis’ (2 runs) played a big role in the 2014 IPL runners-up getting the win.

After winning over the Mumbai Indians, Shreyas Iyer obtained his 50th IPL victory as team captain. He is, therefore, ranked among the most successful IPL captains ever, trailing only MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli.

The battle for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 championship will take place on Tuesday, June 3, at the Narendra Modi Stadium between the Punjab Kings (PBKS) and the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Here, either PBKS or RCB has a chance to be crowned winners of the IPL for the first time even though they have been present in the tournament since it began in 2008.
