Telangana Formation Day: Revanth Reddy promises $1 trillion economy, KTR meets Telugu community in US

On the occasion of 11th Telangana State Formation Day, political parties shared their vision of a developed and prosperous Telangana.
The ruling Congress party’s message came in the form of the speech of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. On Monday morning, he spoke at the official event held at Parade grounds in Hyderabad. He said that by 2047, when India will complete 100 years of independence, Telangana will be a significant contributor to the $30 trillion economy. “We are preparing the 'Telangana Rising 2047 vision plan' with a goal of making Telangana a $1 trillion economy in the next decade and $3 trillion by 2047,” he said.
The CM gave a lowdown on all the successful projects and initiatives implemented by the Congress government after they came to power in December 2023. He said that loans were waived off, benefitting 25 lakh farmers. The government filled 60,000 government jobs, ensured SC and BC reservations, secured Rs 3 lakh crore investment and expedited metro phase 2 and the new Mamnoor airport. He also pointed to the recent Miss World event as a successful attempt to brand the state and its tourism at the global level.
The main opposition party, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), this time sent out its top leaders to overseas destinations in a bid to mark the momentous occasion with supporters of the BRS. Its working president K.T. Rama Rao participated in a large-scale meeting held in the US. Other leaders travelled to Dubai and the UK where similar celebrations were held. Rama Rao spoke at multiple venues and highlighted the development work undertaken by his government between 2014 and 2024, when the party was in power which transformed Hyderabad. At Dallas, he also announced setting up of a legal cell to support Telugu students who were facing issues.
In the Bharatiya Janata Party camp, the celebrations were led by Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy. He assured that the BJP would work towards the progress of the party and fulfil the wishes of all those who fought for a separate state. It may be recalled that Telangana and Andhra Pradesh were officially bifurcated in 2014, following years of agitation by the people of Telangana.
