4 youths killed as car rams into truck in Mahendragarh village

Four youths were killed when their car rammed into a slow-moving dumper near Unhani village on the Kanina-Mahendragarh road in the wee hours on Monday. The deceased have been identified as Gaurav (28), Sachin (26), Kanwarpal alias Monu (26), from Gurugram, and Ankit (28) from Uttar Pradesh. The mishap took place when the four were returning to Gurugram from a ‘Kuan Pujan’ at Gaurav’s cousin’s house in Nimbahera village of the district. The driver lost control of the vehicle while passing over a damaged section of the road. The car crashed into a dumper truck ahead. All four died on the spot. The police on getting information rushed to the spot but were unable to extract the bodies immediately. It took over four hours, two cranes, and a cutter machine to retrieve the bodies from the wrecked vehicle. The bodies were then taken to Sub-Divisional Civil Hospital, Kanina, for post-mortem examination. The accident has reignited public anger over the damaged road stretch, which had already been reported via CM Window complaints and local petitions but no efforts were made to repair the road. Unhani village and nearby stretches of the Kanina-Mahendragarh Highway have become accident-prone zones. Last year, the same region made headlines when six students died in a school bus accident on the Kanina-Dadri road. Now, within a year, another grave accident has claimed four lives, stirring serious concern among locals. Ravindra Singh, Investigative Officer, said a case had been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against the dumper driver, based on a complaint by Suresh Kumar, a relative of the victims. Both vehicles involved in the crash have been impounded by the police and the investigation is on.
