“The whole set went silent after…”, Shah Rukh Khan was once slapped by an actress because..,her name is.., she is now…

In the glamorous world of Bollywood, many actors come to Mumbai with a suitcase full of dreams to make it big on the silver screen, but there are rarely a few who manage to earn that fame and leave an impact. However, there was one such actress who captivated the hearts of millions as soon as she entered the industry. From her natural innocence to her strong performance, she soon rose to fame and left a remarkable mark on the audience, even with her career that was short-lived.

The actress we are talking about is none other than Priya Gill. Priya entered the industry in the 90s. Her debut film was “Tere Mere Sapne”, but it was her films like “Pehli Pehli Baar Mohabaat Ki Hai” and “Dilbar” that rose her to fame. But besides her soft-spoken beauty and effortless performance that still resonated with the audience, there was one particular incident from her early days of her career that continues to be talked about.

This popular incident was with the Badshah of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, and recalls it as her “most embarrassing moment”. During the shoot of the film Josh,  they were shooting a scene where Priya had to slap Shah Rukh Khan.  But the shoot wasn’t coming through as expected, even after taking multiple retakes. Director Mansoor Khan wasn’t satisfied with the shot and asked her to put more emotion even, Shah Rukh Khan encouraged her saying “Mujhe maaro..maaro”. In order to deliver the shot perfectly, Priya slapped Shah Rukh Khan with full force, so much so that the entire set went silent and the sound of the slap echoed.

In an interview, Priya openly revealed that even after 25 years of these incidents, it remains the most embarrassing moment of her career. She said, “It was the most shameful moment of my career,”. Even though Priya was just doing her job and emoting the scene she was asked to, she still recalls it with shame and disbelief.

Gill also expressed her love and admiration for Shah Rukh Khan, she said,  “I don’t know whether you know, but I’m like a… I won’t just say I’m a die-hard fan, because fans are only related to the acting side. I’ve always liked Shah Rukh. When I was studying, I used to watch him on television. He used to come in the serials, and then he became a huge star. But you know, you never think that one day you’re going to be with this guy. And I was totally in awe of him.”

Priya had a short film career trajectory, but despite that, she captured the hearts of many. Stepping away from the limelight, Priya said she is now living a peaceful life with her family in Denmark.
