Ola's Krutrim launches agentic AI assistant Kruti that aims to to go beyond conventional chatbots
Ola Electric founder Bhavish Aggarwal
Bhavish Aggarwal, the founder of the homegrown AI stack Krutrim, feels that the newly launched agentic AI assistant Kruti is the future of AI where technology doesn't just talk back but helps one get things done. The aim to develop Kruti is to make it work the way Indians live. It is mutlilingual, mobile-first and intuitive. As per Aggarwal, it is also deeply personal, incredibly capable, and ready to take daily complexities.
Interestingly personalisation is at the heart of Kruti’s design. It learns user preferences, adapts to usage over time, and integrates with various apps and services, delivering context-aware assistance with minimal effort. Kruti also offers a fully embeddable SDK (Software Development Kit) for developers, enabling third-party platforms to offload LLM orchestration, memory management, and tool execution with minimal code. It also has a research mode, image generator, and has action agents that are being offered free of cost. The company claims that Kruti eliminates app-switch fatigue, formats responses for clarity (using summaries, tables, and stories), and reflects how Indians use and relate to technology in day to day life.
Kruti has been designed to do different tasks such as cab booking, food ordering, bill payments, image creation, and research etc. It is also designed to offer AI features such as research and image creation free of cost for its users. Kruti is also equipped to understand voice and text input, remembers past interactions, and tailors responses in tone, length, and language, including 13 Indian languages. One can give commands to Kruti such as “book me a cab to the airport” or “order my usual lunch,”. The AI assistant is designed to understand the users intent and gets the job done. This AI assistant has advanced multi-modal capabilities backed by Krutrim.
With this launch the company has been able to upgrade from its earlier public beta chatbot which in turn has brought in a redesigned assistant experience with advanced reasoning and personalisation at its core. As part of the Ola group, Kritrim AI is working on creating the AI computing stack. The company is aiming to develop an AI computing stack encompassing the AI computing infrastructure, AI Cloud, foundational models, and AI-powered end applications for the Indian market. The company is aiming to encouraging consumers, startups, enterprises and scientists across India and abroad to build their end to end AI applications and AI models. The company is also developing AI training and inference platforms to enable AI research and development across industry domains. The teams operate from Bengaluru, Singapore and San Francisco.
