Shaktimaan is a television superhero whom kids of the 90s adored greatly. The fan base was so large that kids would immediately sit in front of the TV at home once school ended. In recent days, there has been considerable talk about producing a movie based on this show. Recently, news emerged about Ranveer Singh’s involvement in it. However, as per the latest reports, makers are now approaching someone else for superhero flick.

As per a tweet from Telugu Chitralu, it has been revealed that the most beloved iconic superhero in India is set to make a comeback and the role will be played by “Icon Star” Allu Arjun. Based on the details provided in the post, this role was initially offered to Ranveer Singh, but due to some undisclosed creative issues, this project was halted for a period. However, this movie will now be produced under the guidance of Malayalam actor-director Basil Joseph, in collaboration with Sony Pictures.

Meanwhile, no official confirmation has yet been given by anyone, but if this comes to be true, then Allu Arjun’s ardent supporters and Shaktimaan cult-fans will be getting one of the biggest experiences of their lives. It has also been speculated that makers are in talks with Thudarum, Saripodhaa Sanivaaram fame music director, Jakes Bejoy, to bring him onboard for such an epic collaboration.

When OG Shaktimaan Spoke About Allu Arjun

In 2024, Mukesh Khanna, who played the iconic role of Shaktimaan and Gangadhar in the popular TV series, released a video stating that Allu Arjun might be a great choice for the next superhero role. The actor mentioned, ‘I’m not dedicated to any project, but I believe Allu Arjun could play Shaktimaan.’ He possesses attractive features and tall stature. However, makers of Pushpa have transformed him into an antagonist. Nonetheless, he will suit the part of Shaktimaan.

Later, Mukesh mentioned that ultimate choice will rest with the creators. There has been an ongoing debate surrounding ‘Shaktimaan’ for the past year. Mukesh Khanna disclosed in a podcast last year that Ranveer aspires to be Shaktimaan. The actor spent three hours awaiting his arrival for the rights. After encountering Ranveer, Mukesh declined to grant him the rights as he did not perceive innocence in his expression.
