Madhya Pradesh: 50-year-Old Shepherd In Panna, 15-Year-Old Student In Gwalior & 6 Goats Die After Being Struck By Lightning 

Panna (Madhya Pradesh): Another death due to lightning was reported in Madhya Pradesh’s Panna district where a shepherd lost his life. 

According to information, the incident took place in Rajapur Sunhara village under the Panna Kotwali police station area.

The victim was identified as 50-year-old Janki Pal. He was out grazing goats when he was hit by a lightning bolt. 

As soon as the locals informed the authorities, the police reached the spot and carried out necessary procedures. 

The body was sent for postmortem. The sudden death has left the village in deep shock, and the grieving family is devastated.

15-year-old student dies in Gwalior

Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): Earlier on Saturday morning, lightning strike also claimed the life of a 15-year-old girl, while she was studying on her rooftop in Pahadi village of Madhya Pradesh’s Dabra distrcit.

The incident occurred amid heavy storms and persistent rain in the Gwalior-Chambal region over the last two days.

As the weather worsened, lightning struck, and despite being rushed to Dabra Civil Hospital, Vikesh Parihar was declared dead on arrival. Pichhor police then sent the body for post mortem.

Indian Meteorological Department has predicted arrival of monsoon by June 15 - 16 with rains drenching maximum parts of the state.

6 goats dead, two women injured in Chhatarpur

Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh): Another such incident took place in Sarsed village under Harpalpur police station in Chhatarpur district, Madhya Pradesh, where a lightning strike killed six goats and injured two women.

The women were trying to protect the goats from rain by tying them inside a shed when lightning struck the roof. Both women got burnt in the incident but survived.

Kamta Adivasi, a local, said that during the rain, the goats had taken shelter under a tree. Draupadi Yadav and Rajwati Yadav were tying them inside the shed to protect them, when suddenly lightning struck. The women were injured, and all six goats died on the spot.

Police have reached the scene and sent the goats for post-mortem. An investigation is ongoing.
