Woman among 11 nabbed with heroin in Tarn Taran
The police have arrested 11 persons, including a woman, with 711 gm of heroin, two pistols and three cartridges from different places of the city.
The police said here on Saturday that a team of the city police led by Sub-Inspector Gurvinder Singh arrested two car-borne persons with 505 gm heroin, two pistols, including a Glock with no cartridge, and three cartridges.
The police also impounded the car they were travelling in. Sub-Inspector Gurvinder Singh said the accused were arrested from the Jarmastpur village bridge on the night of June 11, but a case was registered on June 13.
The accused, identified as Damanpreet Singh, alias Daman Lahoria, of Jandiala Guru and Nishan Singh of Khakh (Verowal) have been booked under relevant sections of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropics Substance (NDPS) Act and the Arms Act.
A team of the Patti police led by Sub-Inspector Manpreet Kaur on Friday arrested Chanan Singh and Kulwinder Kaur, residents of Ward No.13, Patti, with 105 gm of heroin. In another case, the Chabal police arrested Gurpreet Singh, a resident of Pakka Qilha locality at Chabal, with 58 gm of heroin.
Besides, six persons have been arrested by the Sarai Amanat Khan police, the local Sadar police, Goindwal Sahib, Khalra and that of Patti Sadar with 43 gm of heroin on Friday. Cases under sections of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropics Substance (NDPS) Act have been registered in this regard.
