Pune: SIFF Urges Justice And Respect For 'Hardworking Fathers' In Special Father’s Day Event At PMPML Bus Stand
On 15th June 2025, the Save Indian Family Foundation (SIFF) held a heartfelt Father’s Day celebration at the PMPML Bus Stand, Pune, honoring bus drivers and conductors—the unsung heroes of public transport. The event recognized their tireless dedication, often at the cost of family time.
SIFF activists distributed over 300 gifts including pens, keychains, and diaries to fathers working at the bus depot. More than 50 volunteers raised awareness about the importance of fatherhood, while every father received a fresh rose symbolizing love and gratitude. The event also welcomed fathers alienated from their children due to legal battles, highlighting the irreplaceable role of fathers in a child’s development.
SIFF President Rajesh Vakhariya stressed the need for equal treatment of fathers and mothers, calling on the government and judiciary to end gender discrimination and promote shared parenting. Citing alarming statistics on men’s suicides and domestic violence, SIFF urged immediate legal reforms.
Sagar Gunthal, SIFF Maharashtra counsellor, appealed for enforcement of Shared Parenting Plans nationwide, emphasizing children’s right to both parents. SIFF’s Father’s Day demands include ending the glorification of single parenting, creating a separate Ministry for Children, penalizing parental alienation, encouraging co-parenting, ensuring children’s right to video calls with fathers, and mandating parenting plans in family courts.
