Ahead of job fair, Delhi Cong chief leads door-to-door drive
Ahead of an upcoming mega job fair, Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) president Devender Yadav visited households in Shraddhanand Colony of the Badli Assembly constituency on Sunday to inform and register unemployed youngsters for the event.
The fair, slated for June 19 at Talkatora Stadium, is being organised by the DPCC and the Indian Youth Congress to mark the birthday of Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi.
During his visit, Yadav interacted with youngsters, encouraging them to take advantage of the job fair, which is expected to witness the participation of over 100 companies across sectors.
He said candidates would be considered for roles based on their educational and technical qualifications, and that the initiative was aimed at empowering youth with meaningful employment.
“Congress has always prioritised the needs of the unemployed. While the ruling BJP has ignored them, we are directly reaching out to the youth to connect them with real opportunities,” Yadav said.
The campaign has gained momentum across the city, with all 258 Block Congress Committees actively identifying and registering unemployed and educated youth in their respective areas.
Camps have been set up to help aspirants fill out forms and submit their details, which will then be forwarded to recruiters ahead of the job fair.
Calling the event a “milestone opportunity”, Yadav said the fair would be particularly impactful for underprivileged and unemployed youth, who often struggle to access formal hiring channels.
“The initiative is part of Delhi Congress’ broader commitment under the Youth Udaan Yojana to ensure every young person gets their first job,” he said.
Yadav said the Congress, through its grassroots workers, was committed to fulfilling the promise of providing dignified employment to Delhi’s youth.
